Hey Y’all!

My name’s Joe and I'm a Mental Health Journalist based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Through my struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma and addiction, I wish to show others, that everyone is capable of improving their circumstances.

I'm sharing my story, as an experiment, to see if it is possible live a life of health, wellness, and happiness.

A public mentor that I've been following named Tai Lopez has based much of his teachings around the four pillars for receiving fulfillment in life. He supposes that if a person is to truly achieve success and happiness in life they must meet a reasonably high level in each of these areas of life; Health, Wealth, Love/Relationships, and Fulfillment. I'll go into each of those subjects briefly, to share my own take on them.

Health can be broken down into three sub-categories;Mental Health, Emotional/Spiritual Health, and of course Physical Health. There is an over-emphasis in society on the importance of physical health, but all three areas need to be worked on in order for a person to really have a balanced health portfolio. And of course you need your health in order to work on and enjoy the other pillars in life.

For me I had a lot of trouble with anxiety and addiction growing up, but the root cause was me not addressing my mental health and happiness in life. I've seen a lot of psychologists and therapists to help me with the anxiety and I've seen a mindfulness counsellor to help me heal emotional traumas from the past.

I would like to see more people think critically and examine their levels of health and happiness in life. Once the awareness is there than appropriate action and fixes become possible.

In terms of wealth, I believe that in today's world it is time for everyone to take personal responsibility for their finances. I've struggled with this area much of my life but now I am starting to understand how money is just energy and is nothing to be feared.

I believe that everybody should be moving towards financial independence by becoming entrepreneurs and eventually working towards multiple streams of passive income.

If you don't know where to start it's time to start reading. I started listening to the smart passive income podcast with Pat Flynn.

"The more you earn the more you learn." I finally am starting to understand the meaning of this quote and it certainly holds true for me.

With regards to relationships again take an inventory, and see which ones are mutually beneficial between you and the person you have the relationship with. Be very conscious and intentional who you spend your time with, and who is impacting your life positively or negatively.

Be intentional! Decide which relationships you want to foster and spend your time and energy with the positive people in your life. Treat your relationships like a bank account, and be conscious of investing your time, love and energy into them so that when inevitable disagreements or hurts occur you can move past them quickly. Otherwise if the hurts, and resentments outweigh the love and positivity, the relationship will quickly become toxic.

To find a line of work you love or can be happy with, you must understand yourself, a niche problem you can solve or niche audience you can serve, and the ability to spot trends.

Become an expert in something that doesn't feel like work for you or that you find interesting. There is techniques to help into this but if you want to move into a field you can be happy with and make a living at, I would say start educating yourself, and start using your time to move towards your goals.

Figure out what you want (get clear on this) and then get off your ass and do something!
